Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our legal team. As an Associate Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal support and assistance to our clients. Duties: - Conduct legal research using various resources such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw - Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements - Assist in preparing cases for trial and participate in the litigation process - Analyze legal issues and provide recommendations to clients - Attend court hearings and depositions - Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases - Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients - Maintain accurate and organized case files Requirements: - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school - Admitted to practice law in the state where the position is located - Strong knowledge of legal principles and procedures - Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills - Effective communication and interpersonal skills Skills: - Litigate: Experience in handling litigation matters and representing clients in court proceedings. - Lexis-Nexis: Proficiency in conducting legal research using the Lexis-Nexis database. - Legal administrative: Knowledge of administrative tasks related to legal practice, such as managing calendars, organizing documents, and maintaining client files. - Westlaw: Familiarity with using Westlaw for legal research purposes. - Legal research: Ability to conduct comprehensive legal research using various resources to support case strategies. - Write: Strong writing skills to draft clear and concise legal documents. - Legal drafting: Experience in drafting legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and agreements. - Negotiate: Proficiency in negotiating settlements on behalf of clients. - Research: Strong research skills to gather relevant information and analyze legal issues.
