The Associate Attorney's responsibilities include developing relationships with clients as they establish legal needs, provide counsel, help them understand their legal options, and represent them in court and negotiations. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of civil litigation experience. You will also conduct research, prepare legal documents, and perform other duties to ensure that clients receive the best and most cost-effective legal solutions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Assigns tasks to legal assistants as needed.
  • Provides guidance and feedback on tasks assigned to legal assistants.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Communicating with clients to learn about their legal needs and concerns and providing them with advice.
  • Explaining legal options to clients and bringing possible outcomes or threats to their attention.
  • Building relationships with clients based on trust.
  • Developing arguments and representing clients in various proceedings.
  • Preparing legal documents, such as easements and covenants.
  • Responding to client inquiries within 24 hours with either a substantive answer, or acknowledgment of the inquiry with an expectation that a substantive response will be received.
  • Availability during regular business hours of 9:00AM-5:00PM Monday through Friday.
  • Staying informed about current legislation, especially concerning legal relevant practice areas.
  • Finding ethical solutions to legal matters.
  • Performing minimally 1650 billable hours a year.
  • Collaborating with other attorneys to provide the best service for our clients.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Juris doctor from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the state of Minnesota.
  • 1-3 years civil litigation experience required
  • Experience in property insurance law would be beneficial, but is not required
