Description:
An Immigration Attorney is an established immigration, crimmigration, and criminal defense law firm, with more than 35 years experience representing the immigrant community. We are seeking an Associate Attorney, with at least 5 years of experience in any, or all, of the following: family-based immigration, consular process, waivers, and appeals. Experience with deportation-removal defense, or criminal defense, is a plus.The candidate should have excellent writing skills, be responsible, dedicated, detail-oriented, and be able to work independently, as well as part of our team.
We do not have a “high volume” practice. Our attorneys and paralegals work together in a collaborative, team-based, approach. Any applicant should be committed to providing individualized, creative, high-quality, representation to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Legal research and writing for submission to USCIS and EOIR
- Preparing and reviewing submissions to USCIS and EOIR
- Client interviews and case assessments
- Meet all internal/external deadlines set by UCSIS and Immigration Court
- Appearances before USCIS and EOIR
Requirements:
- JD from a U.S Law School
- Admitted to New York State Bar
- Bilingual: English/Spanish Required
- Excellent research and writing skills
- At least 5 years' experience with family-based immigration; experience with deportation- removal defense, and criminal defense, is a plus.
