The Role:
Under the direction of the General Counsel, the Assistant General Counsel will handle various legal matters to protect A Government Entity and further its mission to attract both leisure and business travelers to the Las Vegas destination.

What You'll Accomplish:
  • Contract Administration: Review, negotiate, and approve as to form all terms and conditions. Consult with LVCVA staff on business terms, advise on potential business risks, and ensure compliance with Laws.
  • Litigation: Process personal injury claims related to the Las Vegas Convention Center. Submit claims to the LVCVA's general liability insurer, assess possible indemnification opportunities, and assist insurance defense counsel with discovery requests. Attend depositions as necessary.
  • Marketing Division: Review, negotiate, and approve as to form proposed sponsorship agreements, advertising contracts, and event contracts.
  • Business Sales Division: Consult with the business sales team regarding terms and conditions of show leases within the A Government Entity and negotiate and approve as to form all show leases.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by the General Counsel.

What We're Looking For:
  • Nevada State Bar membership, with no disciplinary actions
  • Knowledge, interpretation, and application of various Federal, State, and local law principles and practices (i.e., Government Law, Administrative Law, Employment Law, Worker's Compensation, etc.)
  • Ability to manage complex projects independently
  • Ability to review and compile documents for accuracy, compliance and completeness
  • Preference for thinking creatively and generating new ways to solve problems with receptiveness to new or alternative ideas
  • Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills providing the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
  • Ability to support and respect the various cultural and ethnic values, behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes of a diverse workplace
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
