Job Description:
This role will be focused on supporting Human Resources (HR) teams within the Americas Region. This role will collaborate with internal stakeholders to provide expertise for a broad range of employment-related matters, proactively offering preventive advice and solutions to the HR team for a range of topics from an employee relations perspective including, but not limited to, recruitment, compensation and benefits, retention, discrimination, harassment, performance, discipline and separation, and general labor and employment law compliance.

Job Duties:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment law matters, including but not limited to: discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour compliance, employee benefits, and workplace safety.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements, policies, and procedures to ensure legal compliance and alignment with company objectives.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of evolving employment laws and regulations and provide proactive recommendations to mitigate legal risks.
  • Assist with internal investigations into employee complaints or allegations of misconduct and develop strategies to address and resolve employment disputes.
  • Collaborate with HR professionals and business leaders to develop and deliver training programs on employment law compliance and best practices.
  • Represent the company in administrative proceedings, mediation, arbitration, and litigation related to employment matters.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel, including selecting appropriate outside counsel, overseeing legal matters handled by external firms, and ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal representation.
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions by conducting due diligence reviews and providing legal counsel on employment-related issues.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and benchmarking data to provide strategic advice and support to senior management on workforce planning and talent management initiatives.

Job Qualifications:
Required:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the state bar
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive experience practicing employment law, preferably with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including but not limited to: Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and EEOC guidelines.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance legal risks with business objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment, prioritize competing demands, and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactive and self-motivated attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice to senior management and influence decision-making processes.
