The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Commercial Contracts, the Assistant General Counsel, Commercial Contracts will be responsible for providing counsel and advice to staff and management of An In-House Firm, HSN, Inc., and their affiliates. The person in this role will also bear responsibility for coordinating and providing various legal services including, without limitation, client counseling related to commercial contracts.

The person in this role will perform duties with material latitude for independent judgement according to company policy and law.

Your Impact:
  • Draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts and other documents.
  • Provide advice on legal issues to staff and management.
  • Conduct Legal Department management initiatives.
  • Identify potential legal issues related to business practices and policies and advise staff and management.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned.

What you bring:
  • 7+ years of relatable experience
  • J.D. Degree required.
  • Bar Admission (Pennsylvania) or in-house counsel license required.
  • Solid draftsperson, analyst, negotiator, and presenter of legal points; drafts and negotiates routine and more complex documents unaided.
  • Manages routine and more complex tasks with minimal supervision but is supervised by more senior lawyers for complex matters.
  • Provides creative and innovative approach to conceptualizing ideas and problem solving.
  • Performs responsibilities of a full-service in-house counsel, acting with all levels of internal and external counsel
  • Exhibits excellent people skills and sound judgment.
  • Works well in a challenging environment

  • Possesses solid knowledge of An In-House Firm and HSN corporate direction and strategic business values.

  • Available to travel to various locations to participate in meetings.
  • Ability to research and evaluate information from a variety of documents, including reports, law books, journals, and on-line data systems.
