The New Jersey Judiciary, Office of Attorney Ethics, Supreme Court of New Jersey, is seeking a strong and well-organized legal writer to be tasked with drafting motions and briefs after file review and legal research, including primarily motions for final discipline (R. 1:20-13) and reciprocal discipline (R. 1:20-14), as well as related memoranda, pleadings, affidavits, motions, complaints, correspondence, and other disciplinary filings.

Candidate will also be expected to assist with standard complexity investigations of R. 1:20-20 post disciplinary compliance matters to ensure compliance with the orders of the Supreme Court. Candidate will also assist other Deputy Ethics counsel with post discipline monitoring and or complex investigations.

The candidate may also be required to conduct research and other writing projects as directed by executive management.

Remote Work: The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.

Qualifications:
Graduation from an American Bar Association-approved law school and one year of experience in legal research and analyzing and evaluating legal documents, rules, regulations, and/or legislation.

Candidates with appellate experience and or well developed legal writing skills preferred.

Substitution: One year of experience as a Judicial Law Clerk may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

License: Attorney-at-Law with a plenary license in the State of New Jersey and having Supreme Court Good Standing Status of Active.
