Description:

A Leading National Law Firm summer associate program offers its participants a variety of challenging assignments. As an example, our summer associates participate in corporate closings, client conferences, depositions, court hearings, labor arbitrations, trials, real estate syndications, estate planning and pro bono work, all of which offer real-life law practice experience. Our summer associates are fully integrated into the Firm via practice area and professional development activities. Social activities offer our summer associates the opportunity to get to know us on a personal level in a relaxed environment. These activities, together with substantive practice experience, greatly contribute to the success of Dykema's summer program.

Applicants must be enrolled in and in good standing at an ABA accredited law school at the time of application. High academic achievement, extra-curricular activities (Law Review, Moot Court, other journals), initiative, and motivation are the criteria we consider. We also look for other indicators of likely success such as demonstrated leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, maturity, non-academic experience, and the ability to thrive in a team setting.
