In-House Counsel

Seeking an in-house Attorney to manage trademarks, intellectual property, contracts, compliance, employment issues, arbitration, and other general legal needs of a corporation. Position requires the ability to draft and interpret vendor contracts, including license agreements, with confidentiality. Work will include coordinating legal issues with outside counsel when required, supporting corporate Secretary activities, while performing additional duties as requested by management.

Our corporate office is located south of the Spectrum. This is a part-time employment opportunity.

  • Possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and a license to practice law in the State of California
  • Minimum of 5+ years relevant legal experience as described above
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in franchise support
  • Must be a confidential self-directed professional, capable of working independently with little supervision and as part of a team
  • History of coordinating / supervising a paralegal
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; effective listening skills and effective work in a team environment
  • Experience in contract creation and editing
  • Ability to research unique legal issues
  • Be proficient in Word, Lexis/Nexis and Westlaw
  • Be confident to ask meaningful questions
  • Willingness to co-operate with others, work to the directed solution
