The Silicon Valley office of Gunderson Dettmer is currently looking for an employment law attorney who can provide advice and counseling on various employment law matters to emerging growth and start-up companies. Generally, the counseling includes wage and hour matters, exempt / non-exempt / contractor classification analysis, FMLA / CFRA / ADA / Paid Sick Leave matters, drafting and reviewing performance improvement plans and handling discipline and termination matters, drafting employee policies, handbooks, sales commission plans and separation and release agreements, as well as providing day-to-day advice to HR professionals and start-up executives.
The attorney must meet all of the following qualifications:
Five or more years of experience in employment law (specifically, experience in providing advice and counseling on employment law matters);
Immediately available to work approximately 10-15 hours per week in the Redwood City office, with a possibility of working some hours remotely in the Silicon Valley area after the first 6-9 months;
California State Bar member.
